Santa Fe, NM Day 2, Part 1

On Tuesday we spent 2.5 hours on this vehicle. It was built for the Swiss army in Austria in the 1970s and we were driven off road across the area by a Frenchman. For more info on the tours and vehicle check it out: Website!

I am not a geography buff but we did go up to a mesa and were able to see a reservation area, the Old El Camino Real, old route 66, and some petroglyphs.

The Husband across the way from me. Gives an idea of how we were sitting.
I love the fence running down to the mountains. This area was deserted except for a few cows.
The old Route 66 out in the middle of no where.

See the stone wall and the road. They are the originals and were the only way into the city. The old Model T Ford's had to be driven up the road backward due to the fuel tank system and gravity.

Can you tell where the river runs? Note the green area.

Petroglyphs

Our guide is convinced the Native Americans who drew these were males because of the enhancement drawn right between the legs.
Just something about the mountains that makes everything that much better!
