About Me

WHY?
I started this blog as a way to document memories of beginning married life and starting a career/graduate school.
What it has become:
It has become a way for the husband and me to share our FAITH story! I never imagined how God would work in our lives. It has been inspiring, challenging, joyful, and so full of love through Christ.

The NAME: Occupational Joy
Occupational Therapy is my professional title. It is a discipline that often is not known about until you need it. An occupational therapist works with individuals who have suffered from physical or mental differences to help them get back to living independently in the occupation. For instance, a 55 year old woman has a stroke. Before the stroke she was a 8th grade teacher/grandmother and she wishes to go back to teaching. My job would be to help her reestablish her routines, handwriting, getting dressed…all the things that we take for granted. What I love about the profession is that it is client centered. Christ like! An occupation is the things you do daily…such as sleep, work, socialize…. Well my passion is to live with joy in honoring my Savior. My occupation is Joy…and I chose to live by it!

Who am I?
I am a 20s something girl married to an amazing man who challenges me to live life with perspective and loves me in a way I never knew existed. We both strive to live our lives as examples of Christ to everyone around. Together we have grown in our faith and passion to live with conviction.
We met at a Bible study. We both we out on a game of Mofia and I started talking to this cute, athletic, loud/noisemaker of a guy. The one thing that stuck about that conversation: IT’S A GOD THING!
I am a baseball coach’s wife.
I watched him play throughout college…
…patience is required. This morning girl has to be a night owl.
Truly appreciating my husband in EVERYTHING he does, even the small things….
…he leaves it on the field. Makes me a priority...and it is his mission field.
I am blessed!
