Above is a picture of the family that was taken on the day before Lauren’s wedding. This was one of the best ideas MOM had!
So it is spring, therefore baseball season has begun once again! Season around this house is from mid January until mid August. (and that is just the coaching schedule) It has been a neat experience this year for me to see the husband work. I did not attend many games last year so this year I am trying to make the home varsity games. Baseball is an emotional and heartbreaking sport as well as a fun and spirit filled sport. I am so so so blessed that J keeps the game at the field. I would not know if they won or loss unless I asked him specifically. It amazes me how husbands/boyfriends bring the game home to the significant other and how much conflict that brings. J looks at the individual player for his strengths and looks at weaknesses as areas to be improved and worked on. To me that is a sign of a godly coach/man. What a witness he is for JESUS on the field. So writing all the above does serve a purpose. Last week I stayed after the game to spend time with the husband. This is what he spent his time doing:
I call it his Zen garden. He has two areas he does this to, the mound and the bullpen. Yes it does serve a purpose to maintain the field but in watching him do it you get that relaxed feeling of repetitive achievement. 30 min per Zen garden keeps the man as peaceful and stress free as he is…baseball, good for the soul.
One final thing about family: This past weekend we surprised MOm, Dad, Gramma, and Caleb at his game. What a joy to see the look on their faces!
Yep he is pretty fantastic with a heart for Christ and a hug that rival’s pretty close with J.
Blessed!
